Football magicians Guardiola, Messi & co taught "Showmen" Mourinho, Ronaldo & co a footballing lesson with their 5-0 win in the latest clasico.

If there was any doubt or debate about the following, all questions were answered after the latest 5-0 "Clasico" thrashing of Real Madrid on Monday night in Camp Nou by Barcelona

  • The current Barcelona Team remains a much more cohesive unit that the expensively put together Real Madrid so called galacticos! There are several reasons why Barcelona are a better team:

a) Barca players led by Puyal at the back, & Xavi, Inesta, Messi & David Villa with the able assistance of the likes of Alvez & Bosquet know each others' game blindfolded. The Real Madrid team is on the other hand yet again an expensive selection of what money can buy & it may yet take even Mourinho more than one season to mould the team to his style.

b) Barcelona's all attacking style led by the trio of Messi, Inesta & Xavi, arguably the best three players in the world, & this year spearheaded in the attack by David Villa, arguably the best striker in the world, makes them irresistible as well as admirable. Pep Guardiola therefore is the best club coach in the world at the moment.

  • Pep Guardiola is a footballing master tactician & magician whilst the ever polarising & arrogant Jose Mourinho is a showman who tries to stifle his opponents with his tactical mastery.

The fact that Mourinho failed to admit absolute humiliation after the 5-0 defeat in his first ever "Clasico" as a coach demonstrated his narcissism. Mourinho went to the Monday night game attempting to stifle Barcelona the same way he did with the much more defensively disciplined Inter Milan side in the semi final of the Champions League last year. But the current Real Madrid side does not possess the defensive qualities of Inter Milan, and Messi, Inesta, Xavi & co this time around kept 67% of the possession AND had the magical David Villa in attack, greatly assisted by Pedro. Last year they had Ibrahimovic who was totally unsuited to Barcelona's style of play.

  • Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo: Messi was mesmerising & taunted & destroyed Real Madrid midfield & defence all the way throughout the match whilst Ronaldo stood as a lonely frustrated figure.

Messi is one of the top 5-10 greaest footballers of all time & has the potential to be another Maradona. His passing, goal scoring, dribling, ball distribution as well as individual technical ability & playmaking skills are simply superb.

Ronaldo on the other hand is tactically superb too. However, as evident in their latest encounter, he is not as good a playmaker & his ball distribution compared to Messi is poor. This is partly due to the fact that "ball hogging" remain Ronaldo's biggest weakness.

The latest Clasico once again provesd the Spanish la Liga is the best football league in the world & the English Premier League has a long way to go to match the skills & tactical ability of the Spanish League, and even the excitement of watching the likes of Ronaldo & Messi battling it out.

Brazilian Ronaldo Wants to Say Bye at 2010 World Cup

Ronaldo, the prolific big boned striker and all-time leading World Cup goal scorer thinks the 2010 World Cup in South Africa is the perfect venue for his retirement.

The current Corinthians striker, who led Brazil to the 2002 World Cup title, said "A chance to play in the World Cup would prolong my professional career. It would be great to be able to close my career during the Cup, but I don't want to put any pressure on anyone to make any decisions."

The athlete admitted that he is not fully ready to play for the Brazilian national soccer team quite yet. He acknowledges that he still has some weight to shed and quickness to gain.

Still, Ronaldo's been on fire for his current club team. In his 14 games with Corinthians, Ronaldo has scored 10 goals and has helped his team to win the Sao Paulo state championship.

Corinthians now have their eyes on the Brazilian Cup. They travel to play Fluminense in the return leg of the quarterfinals on May 17.

MY POV: I'd love nothing more than to see the greatest striker of my generation make his farewell at the 2010 World Cup in Africa.

But do you really think Brazil coach Dunga will feel the same way and pick him for the squad? Herein lies the conundrum ...

Fat Ronaldo Not Ready for Brazil Just Yet

Skinny Ronaldo is that guy winning all the awards and trophies with Manchester United. The Portuguese one.

But we all know who the REAL Ronaldo is ... he used to be bald, he used to score goals like they were going out of style and he's the World Cup's all-time leading scorer.

His name? Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima.

Or simply: Ronaldo.

We kid and call him Fat Ronaldo to differentiate from the ... skinny Ronaldo.

But although he's got some girth, Ronaldo's finally scoring goals again for Corinthians in Brazil. About time. We've missed him.

Now that the heavy hitter is back on the pitch after missing almost a year with injuries, is he ready to don Brazil's yellow jersey in preparation for the 2010 World Cup?

Not just yet, says Brazil coach Dunga.

When asked whether he is ready to pick Ronaldo, Dunga said: "Not yet. I will deal with that calmly when I have to. But like all Brazilians I'm supporting Ronaldo. I'm happy he is back and scoring. He is doing what he does best."

Dunga does, however, understand why there have been calls to bring Ronaldo back into the Brazil squad and has left the door open for the striker.

"They are not doing that (calling for his return) because of the two goals he has scored, but because of his career," the coach continued. "Football is emotion, it's passion.

"As soon as we believe he is playing well, and his fitness is good, then we'll name him. Ronaldo hasn't got anything to prove to anyone."

MY POV: Actually, he needs to prove he can stay away from the discos and buffets and score on a more consistent basis.

Honestly, how cool would it be to see the real Ronaldo scoring goals for Brazil in South Africa? I'm getting goosebumps already ...
